Hi @hydrosys4 thanks for posting my HAT so quickly, arrived to me a few days ago.
Just looking at collecting up a few other components to make a working system. If i was to use a 12V PSU and a 12v>5v convertor like you show in the wiki, is there somewhere on the board I can directly solder the 5v to, so i dont have to use the micro USB for the power?
Also, im looking at running my hydrosys with a large water butt and a water pump, is there someway within the software to make it activate a relay to run the pump anytime/only if one of the valves are open? I can always do it by triggering another off board relay from the valve relays, just wondered if there was a neater way!
Thanks
Perfect!
thanks. Anything else I’ll let you know.
Hi,
yes, if you do not want to use the USB for power, you can use the two holes in the rectangle labelled as PWR (upper-right corner) to solder the 5v and GND:
Also for the second question the answer is yes, there is a function in the Software which is made exactly for the application you mentioned.
First you have to select a PIN that will enable the common relay (which activates the pump). Let's assume we use the GPIO20, so PIN number is 20.
Then go to the "hardwareSetting" page and click edit.
Identify the rows with the relays you want to associate with the pump activation and in the filed "powerpin" select 20.
Click "confirm & Save".
Now every time you activate the relays where you set the powerpin to 20, the relay attached with GPIO20 will also activate.
Hope my explanation was clear,
let me know,
Angelo
