My grandson stepped on the PCB and partially (mostly) broke off the capacitor next to the power connector. Can I fix this by simply soldering the broken trace back to a +5v pin somewhere? Or maybe super-glue it down and run a jumper wire from it to a +5v pin?

That worked
I glued it on the PCB and tried to solder it back in but it's not working. It looks like I'm not able to get the positive side cleanly/easily soldered onto the CAP. I think I'll just get a new radial/axial CAP and solder it on top and hot-glue it to the top of the PCB.
I can just solder the cap across any GND to +5v DC point on the PCB with the negative side of the CAP on the ground, right?
