Hello All, could someone please clarify this for me.

the MCP3008 is accordingly to the drawing directly powered by 5V. I could power it with 3.3 V but than it runns very slow.

I measure 4.8V on the output of the chip. But the GPIO Pins on the PI are only good for 3.3V.

Is it maybe necessary to use a voltage divider to protect the PI GPIO Input?
