Hi, I'm installing a Hydrosys4 system on a property where wireless internet connections are very weak. I'm trying to sort out a long range antenna to help but I'm wondering about this:
If I setup the system, then connect the Hydrosys to the internet via mobile phone tethering with the correct time zone and then I disconnect from tethering, does the Hydrosys4/Raspberry pi system keep time as best it can until it's next connected to the internet and then adjust for any seconds gained or lost?
I'll check it in a few hours and post actual state, and one more issue with dht22, actualy 2x dht are connected+bmp180+bmp280. About 3 weeks has all worked perfectly and now no data from dht in graph in DATA page. But in SETTINGS page reading the sensor working ok. a few days ago was in graph a "jump" on dht line, streight line betwen two time points, now only bmp lines left.
If you did not have power outages or reboot, this is not a problem of the RTC. Did you get precisely 2 hours delay? what about the timezone?
No. And the battery is new....
Hi, two hours in 14 days is too much for any working clock. Suggest to check the setting of timezone. Did you have any power outage in this 14 days?
Hi, Yes the system will work exactly as you described. Only thing is if the power is lost the time will be quite wrong until it will be able to connect again to internet. The system does not strictly require to be connected to a network, but in such case I suggest to get an external hardware clock. You can find some info in the hardware page of my website.
