My webcams need to adjust focus and lightning before they take decently exposed photos. Does anybody know of a way to make this happen before the daily photo is shot?

This is a common issue, to take the picture I use the FSwebcam software, which by the way is the one suggested by the Raspberry documentation.

The raspicam is working great, but for the USB cameras seems that the SW is not optimized for many of them.
If anybody finds an alternative to this SW it would be very useful.
