Hello, your hardware and advice was the basis to realize this project. I wanted to share this even if its based on a different software: Thank you! Thomas

Hello, I really liked the the Hydrosys4-System and used it for over a year but decided to switch to Home Assistant for a bit more flexibility/connectivity on some components. However, the switch is not easy with the Automation Hat as it was purposely build to work with the Hydrosys4. Currently I am struggling to get the analog readings from the Automation Hat into Home Assistant. Has anyone tried this by any chance? I believe it only requires some (minor) code changes of what someone else tried with a different analog sensor reading via USB (see link below) but I am still struggling. Can anyone help? Thanks, Thomas

Hi everyone, I am using the Automation/Irrigation Hat - V10 and I would like to connect the MH-Z19 C02 sensor. I need to admit that I started using the hat with Home Assistant as I wanted to try out a few more things myself and add other inputs. However, it's just a great way to reduce wiring. Now I just want to check that I don't do anything wrong (as I still consider myself a beginner in this area). The MH-Z19 C02 be directly connected to the following GPIO pins: I looked at the male pins on the board but I am slightly confused on which ones to use. I am aware you connected GPIO08 and GPIO10 to MCP3008 for analog inputs (which I do not need in my setting). Can I still use male pins on the board (if yes, which?) or do I need to solder the connections myself? The latter would also be fine - just checking. Thanks, Thomas

Hi all, I have combined the system to work with an ebb and flow table(s). It works as follows: A pump floods the table for around 3 min The pot plants absorb water for 15 min Solenoid valve gets actuated to release the water back into the tank unter the table The system has been working well a few months now but I have not automated it. I basically just actuated the steps in the settings section. Is there a way to trigger all of the three steps above with one automation (triggered by moisture level - I have sensors set up)? Thanks, Thomas

Hi all, I am still looking for a way to integrate the Mi Flora Bluetooth Sensor to reduce the cabling of my system. What is the Mi Flora Sensor? Its a Bluetooth Sensor that measures Moisture / light / pH / humidity / temperature / nutrient. It transmits the data via low energy bluetooth (shorter distance, max. 10m for this sensor) Protocol: Bluetooth 4.1 BLE It costs around 12-18 EUR (e.g. on Alibaba express) Integration with other Systems I found various projects already where people integrated it in other systems, e.g.: HomeKit (https://tiemerding.com/pflanzensensor-fuer-homekit/) Home Assistant (works out of the box) Someone made it work with Esp32 (wifi and bluetooth chip) to overcome longer distances (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3qr4PVtuCc); integration with MQTT server Is there any way to easily integrate it into HydroSys4? Is there any way to directly integrate the sensor (maybe with minor coding adjustments)? I suppose the answer is "no" but still wanted to ask. Does the recent integration of the MQTT protocol allow any workaround for integration (e.g. over the option quoted above)? Thanks, Thomas

Hi Angelo & everyone, I set up my system today as a proof of concept. It was a lot of fun and it worked out fine. Tests with moisture sensors and my mini pump were successful (under settings). However, when I click on "AutoWatering" to set up routines as you describe in your tutorial but it would only show "sensor not available". Sorry if I missed something obvious as I am new to this but I was not able to solve this by going through your website and the forum. What could be the reason? Here is the hardware that I use (picture below): Raspery Pi 4B 2GB Automation Hat (sourced from you) 8 Relais board Capacitive moisture sensor Mini pump 5V Thanks, Thomas
